Ash Wednesday!

Yesterday the whole school went to mass for the Ash Wednesday Mass! When our class went to the church the doors were wide open. Our class walked in seeing the bright purple colours,it was blinding! Well kind of…

As soon as we sat on the chairs the people were talking and talking until the priest was there. The priest had purple clothes and a microphone under his clothes on his chest.

We were listening to the priest talking about religious things, but i can’t remember what he said. When he said,” We may now stand up”,We sang the first song which is the “The Good Shepherd”.

I heard all of the beautiful singing,it was amazing! I didn’t drink and eat the bread and wine at all because I didn’t have go up there to have it...But I smelt the perfume that the woman were using.

I felt the ashes itching on my forehead, but I got use to it. As soon as we all kneeled down it felt good at first but it didn’t at all for a while… When we got up my legs were hurting so much! (Well not too much). I loved singing the heavenly songs, well my voice was kind of getting tired but it was worth it!

I said to my mind,”When is this going to end because this is a pretty long mass”,But then it ended, the priest did everything that he had to do. All of the people said goodbye to all and left. The school just did normal stuff after that.

I loved the Mass and so as everyone did it is very important and Holy. The whole entire school had a great time!
